Dance Courses
-
Our dance courses are for ‘All Levels’. They are taught in a beginner-friendly way with moves are broken down simply. Complete beginners to dance may find parts of the choreography challenging but will be supported with the opportunity to ask questions, practice with recap videos and ask for an alternative movement if needed. Beginner dancers can prep for the course by doing our online Dance 101 course here!

That’s okay! The classes are recorded every week and shared with all students enrolled. So if you are away, you can catch up online. We recommend you attend most of the course in person if possible.
-
Our dance courses are ‘Commercial Pop’ style of dance. The choreography is inspired by the specific song and music video.

The final class of our courses is like a performance party! With the opportunity to dress up in a theme, perform for your fellow students and create a video of our routine together.
Students who learn our dance course choreography will be offered performance opportunities. We will have regular Tru Luv Club Student Showcases plus opportunities to perform at our other events.
Performing is always optional if it’s not your thing! -

We recommend coming to class a few minutes early to check-in with the teacher.
Go at your own pace and err on the side of caution; If anything doesn’t feel right, skip it and take an alternative.

You can simply click the link and join from whereever you are, exactly as you are. But here are some tips for getting the most out of the online yoga classes:
Join from laptop / smartphone / tablet, you can even have us on a big screen! Put your phone in Do Not Disturb mode so you can focus on your practice
Have your camera on, your mic off. Have your whole body visible so your teacher can watch your poses and offer verbal adjustments. Having your camera on is a great way to connect to the TLC yoga community too! You are always welcome to practice with your camera off if you feel more comfortable
Wear comfortable clothes that don’t restrict your movement and practice in bare feet
Make sure you are warm enough! It’s better to be too warm than too cold for yoga
Lay out your yoga mat if you have one. Extra props that could be useful (but not essential) are yoga blocks or books, a towel or a blanket and a bolster or a cushion.
Make sure you have a quiet space, free from distraction and clear from furniture.
Your teacher will arrive a few minutes before class start time and will hang back after class ends if you’d like to chat or ask questions
Try not to eat 1-3 hours before class, yoga is best on an empty stomach
-
We chose to use Google Meet because it doesn’t require a log-in or need you to download an app
-
All of our yoga classes are for all levels of experience. The teacher will adapt to the students who are attending.
If you want to learn some basics of yoga before joining the live classes, check out out online Yoga 101 course here.
The golden rule of our yoga classes is to come as you are and meet your body where it’s at. If any poses or movements feel uncomfortable, you can skip them or take an alternative pose at any time.
Read our class descriptions and maybe start with a low intensity class. -

Yoga is not religious, but it can be a spiritual practice. It originated in ancient India with philosophical roots and has evolved into a diverse range of practices, some of which are associated with religious traditions like Hinduism and Buddhism.
Yoga was developed as a ‘lifestyle science’ and is practiced for it’s physical and mental health benefits as well as it’s spiritual philosophies. At Tru Luv Club, we strive to decolonise our yoga practice and honour the history and philosophies of yoga.
